With the Healthy Michigan Plan enrollment successfully underway, I would like to take a moment to sincerely thank you for your support and continued efforts to promote this program. I’m pleased to report that since April 1 we have enrolled 32,071 people in the Healthy Michigan Plan, which means we are now providing coverage to 85,761 residents. I truly mean this when I say that we simply could not have done this without you.

The launch of this program has been coupled with an extensive outreach and media campaign. Our TV ads are now running, and can be found on the MDCH YouTube Channel at http://youtu.be/_qwri6Duaz8I encourage you all to view and share this video to help spread the word about the Healthy Michigan Plan to our partners and the residents we serve. Additional resources for your use, including flyers, a brochure, sample emails, and more, can be found at www.michigan.gov/HMPtoolkit for assistance in getting the word out.

For general questions related to the Healthy Michigan Plan including who is eligible, what is covered, and some frequently asked questions, please continue to direct people to www.HealthyMichiganPlan.orgMichigan residents have three options for applying for coverage: online at www.michigan.gov/mibridgesby phone at (855) 789-5610, and in person at their local Department of Human Services office.

Additionally, as we move forward we will be focused on our earned media efforts and ask for your support in doing so. As you work with more Michigan lives who are positively impacted by receiving coverage, visiting a physician, or improving their health, we ask that you share those stories with us, or should you feel inclined, to share those stories with the media. While the last few months have been heavily focused on the systematic preparations, we do not want to lose sight of what the overall bottom line is: making Michigan residents healthier. We’ve already heard many overwhelming stories of tears, hugs and joy, and ask that you keep those coming. If you would like to send a story our way, please email Jennifer Smith at smithj32@michigan.gov with your story.

Our staff at MDCH, the Department of Human Services, and the Department of Technology, Management and Budget will continue to monitor the systems to keep this program heading in the right direction. Over the coming weeks, we will be sure to keep you updated as more information and resources become available so we can continue to quickly address any issues that may arise.

Attached for your information is the release from the Governor's Office. Again, thank you for everything you have done to make the Healthy Michigan Plan a reality and for your continued work promoting health and wellness in our state.

    Sincerely,

    Geralyn Lasher
